highlight reel

so this was a pretty good year huh? just a few highlights included

*new j-o-b that didn't require living out of a suitcase or my car.

 i found that biking on baller bikes can make a good form of transportation too. yeah , you're jealous of the superman wheels. it's ok.


*running, biking & swimming are fun. not in that order.

 red flames!

 (my grandma is an awesome cheerleader. again, with the jealous? it's still ok.)

*every single one of my friends (ok that's an exaggeration) getting married. holy moley fun-ness! to watch some of the people you hold closest to your heart be so filled with love? no words.

 for realz. it's so great. yes, that is the vertical worm. wait, you don't know the vertical worm? hm, weird. it's only the most epic dance move in the ENTIRE WORLD! i'll show you sometime. oh yeah & shout out to my lovie in the photo booth. she's a good one.

*being totally dorky - singing & dancing in a kitchen while making christmas cookie tragedies with the funnest person i know. elsie. duh. guess what these are?

 yes! how did you know that is a christmas pig (duh), a reindeer (clearly) & a snowflake gone creepy? man, you guys are good!

*sharing my bday love with lb...she loves bdays almost as much as me! we celebrated all week :) then i got this awesome bday card with undies on it. no really, i did.

of all the things that happened in 2012, the good, the bad & the bruised, it was a pretty great year. it only leads me to think 2013 will be even better! i mean, i'm totally on a roll right now.

merry christmas!

it's true! it's so cold outside...perfect for a big ol blarf (or a blanket scarf for those who think i am talking about vomit - i am not. that's gross), chunky sweaters to hide my cookie tummy, blankets & movies. this has been a wonderful year - busy with wonderfulness & merriment. as demonstrated by my lack of blogging. sorry bout it.

there was lots of running, biking, (falling), love & joy in 2012. it is true that my john wayne moved up to higher ground for a better view but he sure brought some good stuff for us to do until we got to him. my crazy, beautiful, weird, loving family supported my black eyes (that's a whole 'nother story) & running adventures as i waved the red flame flag. my wonderful friends laughed with me at my injuries & general goofiness. the new j-o-b is the best thing ever, filled with more new friends.


all in all, i have lots to celebrate. i am lucky & blessed beyond what i deserve. as the year comes to a close, i plan to eat lots of second helpings, snuggle with puppies, hug my family & enjoy the christmas lights. after all, that's what this time of year is all about right?

guys. this is for real. paris fashion week is totally bonkers. i know, i know, i was totally obsessing over new york fashion week but i am so over it now. chanel! mcqueen! valentino! i wish i was rich so i could just wrap myself in all 3.

guys. i am seriously obsessed with leather this fall & winter. i mean, fall can stay away for a little longer. at least until i have ample disposable income to buy me something leather.

let me take this moment to apologize. apologize for my lack of blogging about real life. it's not for a lack of adventures...no, no. summer 2012 has brought many-a-adventure to the life of b. so many that i don't have time to recount them all! for one, every single one of my friends (ok, that's a big fat exaggeration but still) are getting married this summer. no for realz. with a z to make it mean more. i promise to fill you all in on the many adventures of b once they are all done. there will be a big fat stream of antics, hilarity & thoughtful conclusions. 18 weeks, 9 weddings, 5 races & 1 black eye later, i will have survived summer 2012. until then remember this

he was a great man. a husband. a father. a seebee. he worked hard every day of his life. he loved his wife, his family & baseball. he was quiet, smart & witty. he would grit his teeth when he was mad & smile with teeth in pictures when he was happy. incredibly proud of his kids & their kids & their kids' kids. "a meal! a meal!' always came with the spilled milk at the dinner table. a whack with a spoon when it was time for coffee was always accompanied with a loving smile.

he was a real man. my real life john wayne. he took care of his responsibilities. he took care of his family. he loved his wife with a love that only comes once in a lifetime. i would be lucky to find someone to love me the way he loved her.

husband. father. grandfather. great grandfather. seebee. amazing man. deeply loved. greatly missed.
